The White Mare Hotel - Beckermet

Great hotel with free wi-fi, breakfast, and a great car park. I remember how the staff helped me find a lost jewel during my first stay. Highly recommend it for dog lovers too! I'm coming back for Christmas.

The setting was excellent, very close to horse racing in the bottom bar & a sweep stake, followed by football for all to watch, now quiet village of Beckermet, and the pub which has a wonderful cosy feel and great selection of food options. It also was away from the main lake district attractions.

The breakfast was delicious for poached eggs on toast, the best I had in Beckermet.

The room featured an external metal staircase for access, offering a unique but charming entry point. The breakfast included vegan yogurt, a nice touch for plant-based eaters, and the evening meal brought a good banana blossom main dish with tasty chips.

Check-in felt a bit chaotic, done by busy bar staff amid a noisy party, leading to some initial confusion. The restaurant turned out rather chilly on a damp night. They ran out of several menu items, which put a damper on the dining experience. The shower had inconsistent water pressure that could be annoying, and some dishes, like the falafel, lacked freshness and creativity, falling short of expectations.

Everything from the cozy beautiful double room to the delicious meals exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

A Nice Stay in Quiet surroundings!

Our two-night escape was good! The staff genuinely cared. Enjoyed the peaceful setting and the really good breakfast-don't miss the cooked options! For a fun outing, make a short drive to nearby Egremont. Perfect for exploring. We can't wait to return!

Had an awesome weekend with friends! Enjoyed visiting the South Lakes Safari Zoo and exploring the nearby town. The room was spacious and well-stocked. The staff checked in regularly to make sure we were comfy. Breakfast was quick and tasty, and the setting was peaceful. Definitely planning to come back for more fun!
